Rifling through my electronics case and there was the only effect I have ever found use for: A chorus pedal. These pretty much render useless 12 string guitars. Over the years I have used this box sparingly, usually on slow ballads such as “The Fields of Athenry”.
My hand continues to heal but not back to 100% just yet. One thing is certain: I will be playing far less than in the past, for the arthritis is not limited to my left thumb; it is present in other digits of my left hand from decades of playing rhythm guitar.
Happy New Year, Ladies and Gentlemen. My recovery from the thumb surgery is on track. I expect to be back to normal by March or April. At the moment, I can only play cowboy chords, no barred ones. Wishing everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

I wrote this one yesterday. It’s a moment in the life of two 17th Century emigrating Scots.
Sunset on Bantry Bay. Taken with a Pentax K1000 manual focus SLR film camera some thirty years ago. The view from The Bantry House. This is where the French army landed during the United Irishmen 1798 Rebellion. For more of my photos of Ireland from my travels to there, click here.
