Greetings.

This is a place for friends and relations to write an anecdote or memoir about the late “Irish” Billy Briggs, who died on Father’s Day, 2008, June 15th. Billy lived and breathed, slept and dreamed, for the motherland. Ireland was his great passion in life–its people, its history, its conflict, and its contradictions as well.

For twenty-odd years I played music with Billy in his pubs and at various INA functions and in other venues.  We were “bros” as he would say.

I welcome posts and comments from any other friends out there interested in doing so.

Anyone can read or comment on the blog; however, to post you need a WordPress account (You do NOT need to create a WordPress blog in order to post, just the account). Drop me an email at briggsblog@billoneal.com stating the email address used when you created your WordPress account and I will add you as an author. If you prefer, you may email me your submission and I will copy and paste it on to the blog.

Please limit your posts to appropriate comments about Billy only. I review all submissions prior to posting and will approve or edit them at my discretion.

All postings made will be sent to Roseanne Scepansky for inclusion in a book of memories, to be given to his daughters.

To the best of my knowledge, no one is financially profitting from this blog.

All the Best and God Bless Billy Briggs!–Bill O’Neal
